Woodworth Middle School

Congratulations – Academic Games Team

Please congratulate the members of the 2009-2010 Woodworth Academic Games Team.

Everyone on the team this year was new to the game.  With the exception of two students, the team was made up of sixth graders.
This meant that most of the players were playing well seasoned and older players.

The super tournament has three divisions A, B, & C.
Each division plays 4 rounds. The teams are made up of five players each with a maximum score per player of six points.
Only three players in the whole district scored a perfect 24 for all four rounds.  Woodworth’s Hussein Alazawi was one of those players.

Yasser Abusabha, (6th grade)   also won a ribbon for the season because his scores were in the top 25 of the entire district.  There are about 120 students playing.   Maram  Mohammed (6th grade)  was #26.

Our A team finished sixth.
Our B team finished second only one point out of first place and took home trophies.
Our C team finished third only one point away from taking home second place trophies and three points away from taking home first place trophies.

We are very proud of our team.
