Department of Assessment
- Students must apply in advance to take specific assessments. No Exemptions will be honored at test sites.
- “Request to Test Out” forms must be submitted by specified deadlines.
- Each request must be signed by a parent or guardian.
- Additionally, each request must be signed by the appropriate counselor.
- A copy of the student’s transcript must be stapled to the request form.
- The assessments will be corrected in a timely fashion, and results communicated to buildings as soon as possible. Pending testing out results are not to be used to determine if a student graduates or needs to enroll in summer or night school.
- Testing out assessments may involve multiple components, such as:
• Traditional written exams
• Speaking , listening, and/or writing components
• Speeches or demonstrations
• Creating and/or presenting a portfolio or body of work - Testing out requests that involve a portfolio, demonstration, or other demonstration of subject mastery must be submitted by established deadlines. Students will receive additional information regarding format, criteria, and submission timelines.
