“A” Day

1) Students: Please encourage your parents to attend the Parent Meeting on
Wednesday, January 25th at 9am. Ms. Shannon Peterson, Executive Director of Student
Achievement, will be here to discuss & explain secondary options for Woodworth
students including DCMST, HFEC, HFCA, Dual Enrollment, etc.

2) Mr. Wetmore will be holding Intramural Swimming today, Jan. 11th from 3-4pm.

3) There will be a volleyball meeting after school today, Jan. 11th from 3pm-3:35pm.
Any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in trying out for volleyball should attend this meeting.

4) The PTA will have a bake sale Friday, Jan. 20th, and pizza sales Friday, Jan. 27th and
Monday, Jan. 30th.

5) Student Council Officers will have an important meeting Friday, Jan. 13th @ 7:20am in
Mrs. Rabac’s room.

6) Girls Swimming, today – January 11th @ Smith, City Meet @ Unis, January 18th.

7) Boys Basketball @ 3:30pm: Lowrey at Woodworth on 1/12/17, Stout at Woodworth
on 1/17/17, Woodworth at Bryant on 1/19/17

8) 2016-2017 Academic Games Team Tournament Dates: 1/18, 1/24, 1/26

9) Attention 8th grade ALGEBRA 1 students that intend to apply to the DCMST program
for next year:
1. Application packets are now available on the DCMST website, or you can pick
up a hard copy from Ms. Gronau in the counseling office.
2. After you have actually sent your application electronically, please sign up
with your Algebra 1 teacher so that we are aware of who is applying.
3: IMPORTANT DATE:
Application Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017
If you have any questions, please see Ms. Gronau in the counseling office.

10) Students: If you are at school before the 7:50am bell rings, you must either go directly
to the cafeteria and wait where it is warm, or you wait outside. Door #9 will be open
for you to get into the cafeteria. Students are not allowed to wander the halls.

11) The School Store will be open every Tuesday for all students. T-shirts are only $5 in
either grey, black, or yellow. School store items: t-shirts, pencils, erasers, granola bars,
fruit strips, water bottles, rulers, and folders. Student can see Mrs. Stevens in Room
212 during A-2 to purchase a t-shirt on days when the store is not open.

12) Things for students to remember:
* Keep your planners open to your Hornet Pride Card during class and earn those
points!
* The January reward is TBD
* The February reward is Hot Chocolate & Donuts before school
* The March reward is Teachers vs Students Basketball
