“A” Day

1) Attention 8th Grade Students: Fordson will be coming over to talk to all
8th graders about scheduling for next year. The assembly will take place in the
cafeteria from 9:30-10:30 today, February 28th.

2) Mr. Wetmore will be holding intramural kickball today, 2/28/17 and Volleyball
on Thursday, 3/2.

3) A reminder to all 8th grade students that are applying to Henry Ford Early College:
*The deadline date for all applications is this Wednesday, March 1st.
*Be sure that you have complete the following:
1. Provide your Math and Science teachers the ‘teacher recommendations” forms that the Early College e-mailed you.
2. Complete and return (via e-mail) your handwritten Student Essay.
3. Via e-mail, provide the Early College a copy of your last report card
(marking periods 1-3).
See Ms. Gronau if you have any questions or concerns.

4) Intramural girls swimming this Wednesday, March 1st at 3:00. See Ms. Gronau to
sign up.

5) The PTA will have a bake Sale on Friday, March 3rd after school.

6) Staff vs Student Basketball Game is scheduled for Monday, March 20th from
3-4 pm in Gym A.
-To attend, students need a FULL Hornet Pride Card. Your A2 teacher will
give you a ticket.
-To play, students need a FULL Hornet Pride Card to have their name entered
into a raffle. Students from EACH grade will be picked to play.
-The list of players will be posted by Monday, March 13th.

7) Planners, lanyards & plastic pouches are available in the main office for students to
purchase during A-2 with a pass from the teacher. Planners are $5, lanyards are $2 and
the plastic pouch is $1.
8) Door #9 will be open at 7:30am for students to get into the cafeteria. If you are at
school before the 7:50am bell rings, you must either go directly to the cafeteria and
wait where it is warm, or you wait outside. Students are not allowed to wander the halls.

9) The School Store will be open every Tuesday for all students. T-shirts are only $5 in
either grey, black, or yellow. School store items: t-shirts, pencils, erasers, granola bars,
fruit strips, water bottles, rulers, and folders. Student can see Mrs. Stevens in Rm #212
during A-2 to purchase a t-shirt on days when the store is not open.

10) Things for students to remember:
* Keep your planners open to your Hornet Pride Card during class and earn those
points!
* The March reward is Teachers vs Students Basketball
