Dear Woodworth Community:
I hope you all are enjoying the first week of summer with family, friends, and books!
This letter is really difficult to write and I have gone back and forth as to how I would go about telling our families about my departure from Woodworth. I have accepted the principal position at Edsel Ford High School for the upcoming school year. This is bittersweet for me as I have come accustomed to being a Woodworth Hornet and will always call Woodworth my home. Woodworth is truly a special place and this is primarily due to the dedication of our teachers, support staff, students, and their families.
My experience at Woodworth has led me to meet wonderful, loving, and caring parents. Parent partnership is a priority in order for any school to be successful and our Woodworth parents truly demonstrated that partnership. I want to thank you all for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful community. A special thank you to our highly involved PTA! Thank you for always putting students first and for ensuring our students had wonderful memories at Woodworth.
I will value all of the relationships I have made with all of you! I will miss our daily interactions even though it was cut short due to the pandemic. The time we did have was one of the fondest memories I have at Woodworth.
As for my students, thank you for allowing me to watch you grow both developmentally and academically. I am very fortunate to have been part of your young lives and I only hope that I made a positive impact on you. I want you to know that I am always here for you and that I am only an email away. I believe in you and know that you will all go on to do great things! Keep your head up, never turn away from a challenge, and always think of your future. It is never too early to start thinking about college and career. I will truly miss you all and please, please, please, continue to bring that Hornet Buzz wherever you go. Keep that head held up high and remember to always represent that Hornet Pride!
I am confident that the new Woodworth principal will be welcomed as I was and you will show him/her the true meaning of what it means to be a Woodworth Hornett!
I will cherish all of the memories I have made here and I will hold them dear to my heart! Thank you all for allowing me to serve you! If I can be of any service, or if you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to email me at hassanr1@dearbornschools.org .
Sincerely,
Rima Hassan
