Dear Woodworth Families,
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break. As August quickly comes to a close, we are eager to welcome our incoming 6th graders and students back to Woodworth.
The start of the school year is quickly approaching. Our team is working hard to prepare for the first day of school on Monday, August 29th. Middle School will start at 8:25 am and end the day at 3:20 pm, with a half day ending at 11:30 am. Below, you will find a list of important dates and information about the upcoming school year.

Please make sure your information is correct and updated in Parent Connect. If the forms listed below were not completed online, make sure the forms are returned during 6th grade orientation or schedule pick up. The required forms are Emergency Card, Health Appraisal, Sports Appraisal, Cell Phone Policy, Consent for Immunizations, Concussion Form, Code of Conduct Letter, and Pesticide Form.
We are excited to welcome and see all of our wonderful students and families at Woodworth. As we return to school, we want to provide you with additional information about the steps that we have put in place to ensure a safe and smooth transition into the new school year.
Preparing Your Child for the New School Year
There are many feelings and emotions that your child may experience. It is critical to:
- Establish a bedtime routine that is consistent to ensure that your child is well rested and ready to learn.
- Talk to your child(ren) about how they are feeling. Let them know that these feelings are natural and that there are others that are experiencing similar feelings.
- Remind students about the importance of washing/sanitizing their hands before and after lunch.
Arrival Procedures
Only on the first day of school, students will meet classmates and teachers at the locations listed below.
6th Grade- Front of the building
7th Grade- Big Gym (Enter through Door 9)
8th Grade- Cafeteria (Enter through Cafeteria Door)
When students enter the building, they will walk immediately to their locker and then proceed to their 1st hour classroom. Breakfast is available to all students. Breakfast begins at 8:00 am each day in the cafeteria. Students should enter through the cafeteria door for breakfast.
Dismissal/ Parent Pick-Up Procedures
Students will exit the building using the door closest to their classroom. Talk to your child(ren) to determine the best pick up location for your family.

If your child(ren) feels ill, please keep them at home and call the school office at (313) 827-7100 to notify us of your child’s absence.
School Supplies
A list of recommended school supplies will be available during orientation and is located on our school blog, soon.
Breakfast and Lunch
All students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch. Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. each day in the cafeteria.

نحن متحمسون للترحيب بجميع طلابنا وأهلنا المذهلين و رؤيتهم في وودورث. مع عودتنا إلى المدرسة ، نريد أن نقدم لكم معلومات إضافية حول الخطوات التي وضعناها لضمان انتقال آمن وسلس إلى العام الدراسي الجديد.
تحضير طفلك للعام الدراسي الجديد:
هناك العديد من المشاعر والعواطف التي قد يشعر بها طفلك. من الأهمية بمكان:
● ضع روتينًا ثابتًا لوقت النوم لضمان راحة طفلك واستعداده للتعلم.
● تحدث إلى طفلك (أطفالك) حول ما يشعر به. دعهم يعرفون أن هذه المشاعر طبيعية وأن هناك آخرين يعانون من نفس المشاعر.
● ذكّر الطلاب بأهمية غسل / تطهير أيديهم قبل الغداء وبعده.
إجراءات الوصول الصباحي:
سيلتقي الطلاب بزملاء الدراسة والمدرسين في المواقع المذكورة أدناه فقط في اليوم الأول من المدرسة
الصف السادس- أمام المبنى
الصف السابع- الصالة الرياضية الكبيرة (الدخول من خلال الباب ٩ )
الصف الثامن – الكافتيريا (الدخول من باب الكافتيريا)
عندما يدخل الطلاب المبنى ، سوف يمشون على الفور إلى الخزانة الخاصة بهم ثم ينتقلون إلى الفصل الدراسي في الساعة الأولى. الإفطار متاح لجميع الطلاب. يبدأ الإفطار الساعة ٠٠ :٨ صباحًا كل يوم في الكافتيريا. يجب على الطلاب الدخول من باب الكافتيريا لتناول الإفطار.
إجراءات الانصراف / استقبال الوالدين
سيخرج الطلاب من المبنى باستخدام الباب الأقرب إلى حجرة الدراسة. تحدث إلى طفلك (أطفالك) لتحديد أفضل مكان لالتقاط أسرتك.
تذكير الحضور

إذا شعر طفلك (أطفالك) بالمرض ، فيرجى إبقائهم في المنزل والاتصال بمكتب المدرسة على ٧١٠٠-٨٢٧-٣١٣ إبلاغنا بغياب طفلك.

ستتوفر قائمة باللوازم المدرسية الموصى بها خلال اليوم التعريفي وستجدها على مدونة مدرستنا قريبًا.
وجبتي الإفطار والغداء
يحق لجميع الطلاب الحصول على وجبتي الإفطار والغداء مجانًا. يبدأ الإفطار الساعة ٠٠: ٨ صباحًا كل يوم في الكافتيريا.
