Greetings Woodworth Community,
I would like to share with you information regarding a conversation that took place today between Woodworth students and another child who lives near our school.
Late on Monday afternoon, I was informed by our football coach that a child who lives near our school shared a message with a group of Woodworth football players that made them feel threatened and unsafe.
I have been in contact with the principal of the school the child attends, as well as, Dearborn Police. The police have made contact with the child’s family and are visiting the home this evening. In addition, as an added precaution and out of an abundance of safety we will have additional police presence at our school on Tuesday morning.
I want to assure our community that no students have been harmed nor were there any immediate threats to the safety of our students. Although very troubling and upsetting, the messages that were shared with the football players posed no immediate threat to the safety of the school.
I know these types of stories can take on a life of their own on social media and in our private chat groups we share with each other. Spreading information without having all the facts, or added bits and pieces without collaborating the facts, can only heighten the sense of urgency and create more panic. Please be careful about the information you pass along.
Making threatening comments in person or on social media can have very serious legal consequences. Please make sure to use this situation as a discussion point with your children about the types of messages they share electronically and the comments they make in person.
I also want to thank and commend our Woodworth students who did “the right thing” and shared this information with an adult so that proper actions could be taken to ensure student safety. I know that by keeping an open line of communication and working together we can ensure that our school and the entire Woodworth neighborhood will continue to be a safe place for all.

أود أن أشارككم المعلومات المتعلقة بالمحادثة التي جرت اليوم بين طلاب Woodworth وطفل آخر يعيش بالقرب من مدرستنا.
في وقت متأخر من بعد ظهر يوم الاثنين، أبلغني مدرب كرة القدم لدينا أن طفلاً يعيش بالقرب من مدرستنا شارك برسالة مع مجموعة من لاعبي كرة القدم في مدرسة Woodworth جعلتهم يشعرون بأنها مهددة وغير آمنة.

أريد أن أؤكد لأولياء أمور طلاب مدرستنا أنه لم يتضرر أي طالب ولم يكن هناك اي تهديدات فوري لسلامة طلابنا. على الرغم من أنها مزعجة ومزعجة للغاية، إلا أنها لم تشكل الرسائل التي تمت مشاركتها مع لاعبي كرة القدم أي تهديد مباشر لسلامة فريق لاعبي المدرسه.

إن نشر المعلومات دون الحصول على كل الحقائق، أو إضافة الأجزاء دون التعاون مع الحقائق، لا يمكن إلا أن يزيد من الشعور بالإلحاح وخلق المزيد من الذعر.
