“A” Day
1/2 Day Today, January 30th. 11:05 Dismissal.
1) All 7th grade students who wear glasses, please come see Ms. Lori in the main
office for a letter to your parents. It is very important! Thanks!
2) Intramural boys swimming on Tuesday, 1/31 at 3pm. (This was changed per
Ms. Gronau).
3) Congratulations to all the Woodworth Academic Games Tournament winners!
1st Place in the mathletes “B” Division are Ayman Shohatee, Malek Jahme,
Nagham Eldroubi, Bryce McIntyre and Soleman Kaid.
2nd Place in the “C” Division are Abdullah Alhasnawi (7) and Jenna Rashid (6).
The other 3 teams from Woodworth came in 4th in their divisions out of 9 teams.
Well done Woodworth!
4) Congratulations to the boys basketball team for playing hard and coming away with
a win! Way to go Woodworth! Championship game will be Wednesday, February 1st
at Fordson H.S. at 5:30pm. Come out and support your Hornets!
5) Planners, lanyards & plastic pouches are available in the main office for students to
purchase during A-2 with a pass from the teacher. Planners are $5, lanyards are $2 and
the plastic pouch is $1.
6) Volleyball OPEN GYM Tuesday (1/31) from 3-4pm. You must have a
physical in order to come.
7th Grade TRY-OUTS Wednesday (2/1) from 3-5pm. You must have a physical in order to try out – not exceptions.
8th grade TRY-OUTS Thursday (2/2) from 3-5pm. You must have a physical in order to try out – no exceptions.

7) There will be an NJHS meeting Feb. 1st from 3:00-3:20 in Mrs. Gigler’s room.
8) The PTA will have pizza sales today Monday, Jan. 30th after school.
9) Attention 8th grade ALGEBRA 1 students that intend to apply to the DCMST program
for next year:
1. Application packets are now available on the DCMST website, or you can pick
up a hard copy from Ms. Gronau in the counseling office.
2. After you have actually sent your application electronically, please sign up
with your Algebra 1 teacher so that we are aware of who is applying.
3: IMPORTANT DATE:
Application Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017

10) Students: If you are at school before the 7:50am bell rings, you must either go directly
to the cafeteria and wait where it is warm, or you wait outside. Door #9 will be open
for you to get into the cafeteria. Students are not allowed to wander the halls.
11) The School Store will be open every Tuesday for all students. T-shirts are only $5 in
either grey, black, or yellow. School store items: t-shirts, pencils, erasers, granola bars,
fruit strips, water bottles, rulers, and folders. Student can see Mrs. Stevens in Rm #212
during A-2 to purchase a t-shirt on days when the store is not open.
12) Things for students to remember:
* Keep your planners open to your Hornet Pride Card during class and earn those
points!
* The February reward is Hot Chocolate & Donuts before school
* The March reward is Teachers vs Students Basketball
